Title: Y26SE Engine parts Omega/ Vectra compatibility
Post by: Markie on 10 February 2007, 12:09:59
I need to ensure that the thermostat and another associated part for my 2.6 vectra are the same as the 2.6 omegas.

Could someone confirm the following....

thermostat part number 24420652 from vectra 2.6  - is this only on the vectra 2.6 or is it the same part on 2.6 omega ( or 2.5 omega?)

Pipe running from thermostat outwards ( metal pipe) part number 90411829 - same info required.

Oh and can anyone actually tell me what 90411829 is called ? a vx price would also be mega......

 :y :y :)

Unfortunately the info I have says:

90411829 is COVER, TIMING BELT, FRONT, LOWER (for 1.4 and 1.6 engines)

And

24420652 is Vectra only (for 2.5 and 2.6)

All the V6 stats and housings are the same......

Probably mentioned this before but, the actual stat insert is the same as the 4 pot ones (which is cheaper) and can be swapped over if the housing is ok....

Sorry to be a pain but does the thermostat fit into the end of the metal housing or into the top hose attached to it from the radiator as my thermostat is missing?
What is the metal pie on the back of the engine they are talking about too?
Regards
