I'm in the process of a complete rebuild of my 2.5 litre V6 engine but have a part left over which I can't find a home for. My Parts EPC calls it a "Deflector, Cylinder Block", part no. 90466550. It's a shaped piece of steel, about 8cm long and 5cm deep, with 2 mounting holes and clearly fits somewhere where it's covered in oil. The metal is identical in thickness to that of the Baffle Plate which fits below the crankshaft. However, I've searched and searched but can't find where it goes. I can email a photo if required. I was hoping to attach it here but that doesn't seem possible.

Photobucket or the like mate :y
Cant help you Im affraid... could be anything as far as I am concerned :D

Save it in photo bucket then paste the link between the
2 image brakets, when youve clicked on the
image icon. It does work that way honest.

I'd never heard of photobucket but due to the wonders of Google I have now! Here's a couple of photos http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f141/hollis583/DSC01087.jpg"

If, after you've pasted the link, you hightlight it & use the 'image' buttton, you'll post the actual picture rather than the link. ;)

Thanks for the tip. I'm trying to do that with the second photo. Fingers crossed. I'm still after suggestions as to where the part fits.

John, what year of engine is it.
I dont recognise the part so wonder if its an early engine....
-
I assume the engine is the original 1997 one. Its number is 08169122.
The VIN is WOL000021V1108402.
As mentioned in another post, there were no valve seals installed. Were they only introduced on later engines, I wonder?
