every day "coolant level" will come up on my dash, so the next day i will check the level while the engine is cold the its fine. ill start the engine to allow the fluid to move around and its still at the max line
any ideas on why this message keep popping up
cheers snips

Probably a faulty level sensor in the base of the expansion tank, if the fluid level is 100% OK.
As I recall, the header needs to be replaced in entirety as the sensor is not available seperatly....

the same is happening to mine aswell!!! ::)sometimes it comes on sometimes it doesn't,but like snips,my coolant is spot on with no leaks etc....

cheers hotel21, ill see about gettin it sorted, as one day im going to ignore it and it will be low!

check that the float in the tank is floating. It may have got stuck.
Otherwise its a new tank (or just unclip and short the sensor wiring from the bottom ;))

mine does that to sometimes it comes on then it doesnt.is there any easy way of fixing it rather than changing the header tank

Giving your header tank a soak in a caustic cleaner. It helped, but didn't fix it. Besides, a new header tank looks so much better. :y

supose a new one does look better ive not realy looked at how to change it is it just a few jublie clips and a few securing bolts

It's not even that. There's a hairgrip looking clip at one side, & the hose clips are the type else where under the bonnet that require hose clip pliers or similar to release.
