Title: New Tax Disc Holder
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 25 October 2007, 17:05:16
Hi Guys, I have had this sample of a Tax Disc Holder....
What do you think of it????
I think it looks great TBH..... If we have the Logo on the back it is going to be very expensive....

This will cost £3.50 each that includes the postage.

Let me know what you think..

like it,but people would like a range of colours e.g same colour as their omega. :y

I isn't that easy though, if its the colour people don't like then perhaps we should agree on the colours

So do people think the design looks right but not sure about the colours Black with Orange??

So I will see if they can do some samples of

Deep Red with Black, Grey with Black any more??

But think it would be better if we could all agree on one colour in the end :y

Looks good  :y

Just my 2p worth tho......would it be better the same font as in the omega piccy above?
As colours go.......wouldnt it be good to tie it in the same colours as mikedundee's baseball hats.....tho not sure if thats been decided on yet  :-/

Just thinking a standard of font and colours make it more recognisable  :)

Looks good :y, colours are fine by me, need to keep it simple due to the set up costs, bearing in mind that it is an individual member making the initial outlay and has to purchase a minimum quantity and may not get them all sold :y

GRIFFIN

Origins of the name and the logo

The griffin emblem, which is still in use, is derived from the coat of arms of Fulk le Breant, a mercenary soldier who was granted the Manor of Luton for services to King John in the thirteenth century. By marriage, he also gained the rights to an area near London, south of the Thames. The house he built, Fulk's Hall, became known in time as Vauxhall. Vauxhall Iron Works adopted this emblem from the coat of arms to emphasise its links to the local area. When Vauxhall Iron Works moved to Luton in 1905, the griffin emblem coincidentally returned to its ancestral home.

The logo (as pictured) used to be square however now, it is circular.

VAUXHALL MOTORS
Over the years pcl have supplied Vauxhall Motors with various items of corporate clothing. When the plant in Luton was closing, pcl corporatewear were asked to supply a large quantity of bespoke casual jackets, subtly branded with the Vauxhall Griffon, as a good-bye gift for their staff. Pcl have had an ongoing relationship as supplier of Work wear for the 400 staff at the Parts and Warehouse Operation which is still located in Luton

Just a query regarding the tax disc holders, the logo is on the front of the holder, looks like the tax disc would cover the actual writing, or is the writing e.g., omegaowners still visible when the disc is in the holder?

Mike form sitting in the car you wouldn't be able to see the tax disc as the picture will be hiding it.. From outside of the car you would see the tax disc but not the picture hope that makes sense mate :y

As requested e-mailed the Printers and he has sent me some different colours in the same design. We need to agree on one though as me or whoever has to stand out of the money to buy these. Alot of places ill not do any less than 250!

Mr Mike Dundee is going to update the poll to the seven new Tax Disc Holders hopefully they should be in order as you see them on the thread.
Whatever Holder gets the most votes I will be showing the Vauxhall Press Office to make sure we can get them made up without getting into trouble with Trading Standards or whoever :y

I have had an idea given to me and thought I would share it to see what you think.
If we had a sheild shaped Tax Disc Holder, looking from outside at your car you would see your tax disc and then above it the rectangle shape of the OOF Logo..... but having omegaowners.com instead of Omega Owners Forum as passers by would recognise it as a web page...
On the inside though what would you want to see??
Would we just have OOF, or Omega Owners Forum in Orange like the Logo's text?
Would we want the main holder to be white?

If we can get some ideas over the weekend I will speak to the printers on Monday to see if they can do what we decide. With the Tax Disc Holders I have already posted I will need to get in touch with Vauxhall Press Office to see if they will allow the Griffon.....
If we do use the Logo we need the Admins permission :y
