Title: Removal of wood effect trim
Post by: psychnurse on 26 July 2008, 14:59:59
How is the best way to remove the wood trim from doors? (prefacelift elite) Do I have to remove all of the door panel? If so is there any wiring or electrics to look out for?

Been struggling with the father in law to remove a welded towbar and the facia to put MV6 one in, only to look at TB's guide on climate bulb renewal and have found out about the locking bar  ::) ;D

Bar has had extra peices added and welded to car frame. Can only think it has been used for huge loads. The bar itself is in good shape and 'normal'  :y

The green Omega I was sat in today, while removing its driver's door window, had, what was left of its trim, its trim painted black. It looked as if it could have been original.  :-/
I quite like my plastic wood.  ;)   :y

Look here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1217691577

The pic gives an idea.. but not the best. I will take some tommorow if you like. Looks so much better then wood.. in my opinion.

ok thx, but i don't think that i can get good efect with painting plastic, will not have that glossy finish like original alu or carbon, and i'm little afraid of paint falling of plastic and than i have mess up all and have to bay another in wood, better solution is original but dont know where i can buy one.

is there in england any chence of getting one, if that is not too expencive i can pay with paypol or some other way and pay shipping?

that thing in my car will look awsome and noone here will have it but me  ;D

Dont think you will get alu mate  :( :(

You should be able to pick up carbon easily enough when someone is breaking a MV6.

If you laquar the finish you would get a gloss mirror finish. Just a bit of prep time. I am not aware of any alu fitments... prehaps others may be able to advise on after market trim.

Prehaps try a wanted post on the forum??   gota be worth a try?  :y :y
