Title: power steering heavy
Post by: loon[mv6] on 02 August 2008, 12:56:42
hello everyone an di hope someone can help me.
i done a search and couldn't find anything so i thought id make a post.

The problem is the power steering has got heavy on my mv6,i have checked the fluid level and it is fine,so i presume there is no leaks, tyres and pressure's are ok and the pump seems to be working ok,well i can hear the pump on full lock.
so has anyone any ideas on this, before i chuck it into the garage and bankrupt myself  ;D
i had decided to blame the wife for keep adjusting the steering, but i couldnt see anything that would make the steering so heavy  :o
cheers in advance

Just keep an eye on it -- if it doesn't pop again soon, probably "one of those things" --- fuses age too  ;)

has the omega got a steering box system and not a rack?

just noticed my mv6's steering feels similar to a friends 124 mercedes which does have a box system?

Rather than start another topic I thought I'd hi-jack this one!  ;D
Has anyone ever fitted a refurb'd power steering pump? I think mines getting a bit tired now. Often when I'm trying to manoeuvre my caravan I also end up fighting with the steering wheel. Compared with its better predecessor  ::) the steering has always been a bit heavier, I assume that they were both a very similar sevotronic set up.
