Hi all,
I've got a problem with the cabin fan (Climate control) on my car. I can hear the fan blowing away but only get what I would describe as a light draft coming out of the vents. Same thing if I put the windscreen de-mister on just a little draft. Tried resetting it using auto and off to no avail I can hear somthing happen but it doesn't cure the fault. Anyone got any ideas as to where to start looking.
Many Thanks
Rich

Is the pollen filter blocked?
-
It's not been that long since it was changed so would have thought it would be OK. Can i just take it out to double check or will that kick the re-circulate valve in?
-
It should work fine without the filter as a test.

Thanks for the quick relies Mike. :y
I typed a long account of what I did / didn't do today and then pressed the wrong button and lost it. >:( so here's the shorter version.
The fan worked a bit better when I started the car today. Thought I'd check the pollen filter anyway. The filter compartment was half full of water giving me a soggy filter. Thinking about it the problem started just after some heavy rain so it makes sense that as it dried a bit the fan started working a little better.
So at the moment I need a new Pollen filter as I chucked the soggy one and the fan seems to be restored to it's rightful state.

You need to clear the drain for the air intake asap. That water may destroy the fan controller.
Search for heater intake drain clearance, there's a rubber plug at the bottom which bungs up with debris and causes all kinds of difficulty.

Sorry Mike, I've done it. I did put it in my first reply that i lost. I soaked most of the water out with a rag until i could see the drain hole and then used my airline to blow the sludge out of the hole. :y

There you are, keep the drain clear, new or dried filter and all is well.
