Title: Not an oil thread (as such)
Post by: Elite Pete on 18 September 2006, 10:48:21
In my shead I have loads of 10/40 Vauxhall oil for the Omega but I have recently bought a Rover 25 diesel for the wife to use which also uses 10/40 oil. My question is what is the difference between oil for petrol and diesel engines or can I use the same oil for both.

I was always told that diesel engine oil had detergent additives and shouldn't be used in petrol engines but using petrol oil in a diesel, maybe it will benefit from some oil additive?

So what you are trying to say is it it should be OK to use the oil but theres a chance that if I do a big wagon might squash me ;D
