Can anyone help - this is causing much embarrassment. My Omega Estate CDX 2.2 has developed a problem with the alarm going off when I open the drivers door manually with the key. The alarm stops when I start the engine.
For the record, the central locking doesn't work and we haven't got round to investigating why (new baby etc etc). Whether it has anything to do with 2 year old flicking around with switches we're not sure but it is an intermittant fault which happens 90% of the time. Thanks for any advice!

why cant you open with the blipper? I have a new
Second key that does the same, it is awaiting
programming for the blipper by The Boy.

Welcome to the Forum by the way. :y

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I didnt make myself clear (wine and knackered), the central locking will work from the key manually but the blipper on both keys we own fails to work. Cheers.

.change the batterys. Couple of quid from vx parts
Dept. They may well change it for you while your in
There or order from the forum  shop if they are in
Stock, if your ok with taking the key apart yourself.
Failing that i guess a tech 2 session will re programme
The blipper, or try holding the blipper button down
With the key in the ignition not sure if the ignition
should be on. Worth a search.

Ps fill in your profile with location and we may be
Able to direct you to a tech 2 owning member, may!
Avoid the dealers for tech 2 if you can,££££.

Chris has given you correct advice on your problem, as I know when my fob's (x2) were requiring batteries my alarm would sound if I used the key manually.  However, my fob's were faulty as well, due to the microswtches being bollxxks, and if this is the case, after trying the new batteries in them and resetting as Chris describes, then come back and one of us will give details of a lovely guy on here who will charge only a small fee for repairs. ;)

.....and yes Machonet, Hello and a warm welcome to this site which will give you plenty of expert info. on your miggy as and when required! ;) :y

If opened with the mechanical key, the alarm will go off. That is the design.

what is the reset procedure for the key in ignition
 thing?
-
Hey thanks for all the advice. We did try replacing the battery (some guy from Halfords had a nightmare with it) and it didn't fix the problem so looks like Lizzie Zoom is right and getting its micro'dangle berries' repaired could be the answer! We are based near Watford in Herts. Any idea where and how much it might cost? Cheers m'dears.
