Title: BEBO
Post by: Big Fra on 23 October 2007, 20:53:26
Greetings chaps,

You are probably all aware of the social site called BEBO.
I have started a page which I have called Vauxhall Omega Drivers. It contains stuff about Omegas, pics etc
It is still very much in the early stages and I will be adding to it daily.
If any of you chaps out there in Omega world would like to look at, or, if you are already on BEBO, join, please do.

I would like to do a folder for members to show their cars, everyone would have their own folder for others to view. Just send me the piccies and what you want them to say and I will take care of it.
Also, just like on here, step by step how to galleries.

I would also like to tie it in with this site also, if that's ok with the moderators. ::)

I think we should spread the Omega word everywhere, and I have gotten a few younger drivers into Omegas as well.

Good Idea?

Answers on a postcard please.

Cheers

Oh yeah, have a look, www.bebo.co.uk/omegadrivers

It's a bit like facebook apparently... I don't use it

Maybe, on the second line of my message, it reads 'social site'?

I think it does.

Anywho, click on the link, if you are not interested or cannot understand it, then leave it.

If you fancy it, then join.

It's all in the name of a laugh, and it would surprise you who have actually signed up!

LOL you guys are all so yesterday, I can't believe you haven't even heard of Bebo :D fair enough if you choose not to join. Yes it's a bit like Facebook, although Facebook is a bit more uni-centric as you used to need a uni e-mail to join, and you could generally only message people within your uni. Pretty sure that restriction is gone now though, but I don't use facebook so much these days.

I'll have a look at the Bebo group in a few mins. I'm not sure I'm enough of an Omega fanatic to join the band tho :P :D

Good for you Tammy, it's great to see someone taking responsibility for their kids on the Net.

When I was young, I was the only one in the house that even knew how to switch a computer on. Therefore I soon learnt how to connect a modem, and surf the web to my hearts content - and nobody was any the wiser what I was looking at online.

And look what it's done to me now, I'm past hope  ;D

I joined OOF which is 1 of 2 that I use.

I use the internet daily a very small portion of my time on this forum. I spend no time on newsgroups or any other group. I have no wish to see or use the crap that people call "social"

This is the forum I choose and would certainly not wish to see it linked to any other, I can do that now if I so wished, and I do not and would not.

well said bumbles it is possible to use the net to very good effect without ever seeing some of the other crap there is out there. And I have 2 computers permanently connected 24hrs a day. Keep it up

Don't knock it till you've tried it guys. OK it's only got one member (today) but even this forum started with one member.

He's not trying to set up another forum or anything that will compete or conflict with this site (how could it?), simply another way of telling the world about our passion for Omegas.

Gets my vote - Well done Fra  :y

Greetings chaps,

A bit of a mixed bag of responses I have.
Bumbles5, I understand your concerns and applaud you on it, I have just created this page in order to spread the omega love (hee-hee) and for anyone to show off their car.

It is like anything, you get out what you put in.

It is not in any way to compete with this site, I do think this is the best on the web and do not want to stand on anyones toes, nor do I have any underlying agenda. I'm just a guy who is proud of what I drive, (with the exception of her puddle jumper).

I didnt mean who is a member of my page, I meant bebo in general.

Anyway, just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings.

Considered putting one on my speccy, but seeing as we didn't have a phone line in the flat it would have been as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Hmmm, can anyone tell me what the world was like in the days of black and white?

Less colourful I would imagine.

Did you know, if you are blind or deaf, you get your TV licence for half price?
