Don;t know if this is a common thing or not but how accurate is the range reading on Omega's. My previous barge being a GLS didn't have it but my new CDX does and it seems very very very optimistic. At the moment the needle is just creeping into the red and it's telling me i have 240 miles worth of fuel left.
When i bought the car the fuel gauge didn;t move off it's stop when i started it but the range computer seemed to think it was good for 180 miles.
Is there a quick way to sort this.

Have you helded in the top button to reset the range

They can be altered with Tech2. It may have been replaced with one from another car.
-
Yup, tried resetting it but it always seems to come back at roughly the same figure.

Had the MV6 down to 1m range earlier (few petrol stations round here sold out). Seems accurate ish.
press and hold S and R for 3s and post up the numbers...

Display readouts are something of a gimmick & not to be trusted pretty as they look on the dashboard. Not just Migs but most cars really. ::) :y

Since 1991 I've driven three Carltons and five Omegas all with onboard displays and without exception I have found the read outs to be very accurate, the key was always to zero the figures. Suggest a 'tech 2' reset.
