hi all, just a quicky, im still going through my previous g/box dilemma so thought id check the wiring to the ignition switch, have come across a plug that doesnt go anywhere, im thinking it might be for crc but thought id ask to make sure, [wont get 100+ posts on this one ;D] & nope g/box problem still there :'(

small 4 pin plug (but with only 2 pins) near indicator stalk? If so, then yes. Thats all you need for cruise on TD is a 2 wire cruise stalk.

This must be the cheapest, quickest upgrade ever!!!! Stalk, £6 + vat from local 'scrappy' (just make sure its a 2 wire jobby!) less than 10 mins taking off the sterring colum shroud halves, click out old stalk, push in new, connect 4 pin, (but 2 wire? ) plug. replace shroud, and test.... :)
Went for a run up the local dual carriageway, at 60mph press little button to set, take foot of pedal (gingerly , just in case ;D ) and HEY PRESTO.... just like magic, cruise control!!
Done over 300 motorway miles over the weekend, and reckon its helped the fuel consumption too, gone up from 35 to 38 on a long run.
Wish all mods were this easy!!! :y

Yup, nice easy upgrade.
Just be aware that 2nd hand stalks tend to fail quickly (usual failure mode is it brings on the full beam headlights intermittently), so never play much for them. Only £30 from dealers

just so i know, what model miggy should i be looking for thatll have the correct stalk, i know what you say about prone to fail but if thats the case i might find one thats been done recently if im lucky ;), so then i`ll have cruise but still cant go anywhere :'( nice mod though :y

My CC started to fail like that so i took relay out and squirted WD40 about and touch wood it's been ok since - odd coz i thought it was the actual stalk that failed?

Another Omega 2.5TD. All others are 4 wire.

It is the stalk, and it will happen again.
I'm guessing you have either knackered the relay with wd40, or made it a little lazy...
