Title: Any ideas?? (Interior Light)
Post by: Pete Wright on 17 August 2008, 21:43:38
Hi Everyone

Has anyone any idea what I can do with my interior courtesy light. When the door is opened the light comes on and stays on for the allotted delay time. However, when the ignition is switched on it remains illuminated. This is the same when the engine is running, if the door is opened at night the light stays on for the delay time even though the engine is running.

Is there a simple fix for this as it makes driving at night a problem if someone gets in or out.

Thanks for your help
Pete

By chance, have you done 'Hillpers boot boot' to override the safety systems related to boot opening?

Not performed a boot boot as I don't know what one is, the boot works fine but I have only had the car a couple of months so cannot guarantee the previous owner didn't!

Can you open the boot with the key in the ign, and by only quickly pressing button on dash?

What you are seeing is a side effect of the mod...

Yes the boot will open with the key in the ignition, is there anything I can do to reverse this?

do you have to press and hold the button to open boot, or just a quick press will open?

You're going to have to join together the red wire that was cut - as per here:

Thanks for all your help,
The car had been modified and the wire has now been re-joined an although the boot wont open with the key in the ignition, I would much rather have the interior light out when I am driviong at night.

You are the Gods of Omegas and I don't know where I would be without you all!

Thanks again! :)
