Title: Windscreen wiper problems
Post by: nixoro on 19 August 2008, 18:21:54
I think the motor is loose somewhere as when the wipers are on they stop where they should driver side then after abit start hitting the windscreen surround.

I have also noticed the passenger side wiper every so often clips the innner edge of the wing at the edge of the screen due to wiper travel.

Checked the wipers earlier and the motor appears to jump when in use not harshly but noticable.

Is there anyone on here who knows where the mounts are for the motor unit?

I think they are under the scuttle towards the back of the engine.

yep under skuttle,

Is the wiper motor physically jumping, its maybe just loose and worth checking the bolts are nice and tight.

Think there are three holding it in and also an electrical connector

Think your right the lump in the middle keeps jumping not heavily but obvious shall check all the mounting bolts.

Are there any specific torque settings for these bolts?

Sounds like the motor has worked loose.

Indicentally, my wiper motor has stopped parking properly and I enquired at the stealers today as to the price of a new one. 170 quid plus vat trade price. :o

I'll strip it down and see if I can fix this one, then. :(
