Title: Facelift exterior door trims
Post by: MV6Matt on 22 August 2008, 05:31:58
Hi
Does anyone know if Facelift exterior door trim (smooth plastic in same colour as door) will fit pre face lift doors ( for which the exterior trim is usually light black 'rough' plastic with a chrome strip)
Will the mounting lugs be different?

Any help appreciated
Matthew

They fit size-wise, but you'll have to figure out how to fasten them. Some kind of heavy duty glue is the way to go.

Ive fitted them to mine, they do look so much better. I had to drill two holes in each door and I used Sikaflex glue to hold them.

Can they be bought from VX pre painted if you supply them with the paint code or are they simply primed?

Im sure they will paint them for you, but will cost a fortune. I bought aerosols from the parts dept, about £8 for paint and laquer and did them myself.

Lovely info fellas.

Ben - the price of them alone is extravagant (as I'm discovering!)  painted would be Lottery winnig money!

Main dealer price for 1 x drivers door trim £50 :(
Auto Vaux (same part) £35 :-/

Anyone know cheaper than this?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll copy you.
So they obviously aren't difficult to get off then?
