Title: v6 omega that cuts out
Post by: daflxdriver on 23 August 2008, 21:47:33
hi everybody,
it all started when the drive belt broke,it overheated and did the head gaskets ive had the gaskets done and all the belts and is running fine
but now after about a hour of driving it cuts out and just before that the engine light goes on then off and will not start again.let it stand for  2o mins and it will start again.once when this happened i check and there was no spark so i changed the coil pack and still does it.
some one said it might be the cam sensor so i changed that still the same.as any one had this fault or any idea what it could be.
can anyone help. :-[

Have you done a paperclip test to get the codes as the light is coming on?? More likely to be crankshaft sensor (code 19 with the engine running)

pre facelift v6 i.e. before 2000 you just shoveone end of a paperclip in position 4 the other end in position 6...one being top right and working down and it will start flashing away your codes...very easy...
