Title: Another Damaged Omega
Post by: Markie on 30 October 2007, 16:16:01
I know we have had a few recently...can i join the club, well SWMBO actually  ::)

She did the school run this morning and as junior was stepping out the car a bl**dy stupid astra driver ran head on into her.

Not as bad as it sounds though, damage only to drivers side and front of bumper - it needs a new one. This was simply a case of the other female misjudging space as she hit our car about 10mph - only damage to the omega is the very very corner of the bumper is seriously dented in. I have insisted they check headlight alignment and suspensions & steering compnnents as a precaution though.

Obviously SWMBO was right onto the phone to yours truely and ive extensivley photographed / got driver details and called police & insurance. SWMBO drove it home after i inspected it and all is fine.

That was 9am - the claim is now closed and situation resolved. Got to say i am well impressed.

The other driver called her insurance co and admitted liabliity - they called us and arranged for our car to be colle3cted on a truck  (its perfectly drivable but i dont want anyone driving it) and also delivered a ghastly ghastly Focus on 07 plate as a courtesy car.

Our company have closed the case and advised no loss of ncb or excess.

And the good news - well the facelift omega had only one mark on the whole car - on the front  bumper -  a parking scrape right where its now dented  ;D

Still not nice to have the " ive been hit call" and seeing a wounded Omega  :(

Bob Dont worry your old beast is fine  :y Its the Wifes 2,5 cdx facelift.

Kev - I`ll be going to inspect it prior to taking it back - i have same concerns, Id go radio rental if it was the MV6. In fact id probably still be waiting for SWMBO to pay the bail  ::)

SWMBO with More Than, they were fine but to be honest it was Tesco who were on to us ( the liable drivers Insurer) and they arranged everything. I gues they probably groaned when the other party called and said " ive just hit a stationary car and it was my fault"  ;D

i'm with hyperformance and not made a claim with them, they havent even sorted my documents out yet, renewed my policy in september, they sent me forms out with discrepancies, so i returned them not completed and told them to put it right before I sign anything, and i havent heard since, i'm wondering if i'm even covered, i better be, they already have my money!
