Hi got a little problem ignition had been playing up a little by having to wiggle the key a little to make it turn now i have just gone to go out and it wont turn at all now. Plus the wheel is locked blocking the screws to take the capping off from around ignition. Is this the barrel knackered? How much for a new one? Or is there something i can do to get it going. Many thanks in advance for your replys. Steve.

See MDTM's guide in Maintenence Guides...

Where abouts is the shear bolt located for steering lock please?
-
If you are looking for access to the sheer bolts to drill out the mounts then the plastic trim covers must have been removed? If so, you should then be able to access the pin hole with the allen key as per the guide. It just needs patience and perseverance to get the lock assembly out. Try some brake cleaner spray into the lock before running the key in and out a fair few times. Hopefully that should dislodge the keylock pins.
Also, if you pull the steering wheel slightly in one direction or the other to take the weight off the actual steering lock mechanism, you could well get the key to turn... :y

Have read through the guide to take it out last night and as daft as it sounds i actually have a blister on my thumb from trying to turn the key for hours ha ha. I have taken the plastic cover off and have full access to the ignition barrel just cant see where the shear bolt is?

Have you tried turning the key with the weight off the steering lock by pulling the steering wheel slightly?
-
Sure have, becoming really annoying now. does the key have to be turned to the one position for it to come out when you put allen key in?
-
Yes. And, once you get the barrell out, resist the temptation to remove the key! Leave it in then clean out the crud with brake cleaner and an airline. Carefull ose of a fine file can smooth out any rough projections that can cause locking.
I would repeat trying the cleaner/airline route using a plastic tube like those on the WD40 cans to get the stuff right into the assembly.
