Remove it and spray it liberaly with carb cleaner.....I then use a small paint brush to get it mega clean.

Rinse out with more carb cleaner and then lube with a light oil or lubricant

As simple as that - thanks Mark.

Done it - it was well stuck up.  Once i got plenty of carb cleaner in there it freed up & i could see how it works! Dried it out, oiled it (3in1) and refitted.

Will see next time I use car if it still stalls when slowing right down like going into a roundabout (when traffic coming - don't slow down if its clear ;)).

Checked codes - 19 not reappeared since new Vx crank sensor put on yesterday.  No signs of the 57 & 165 i got after I cleared the 19 prior to changing crank sensor.
