Title: Still Missfiring!!!
Post by: neddy on 17 August 2008, 21:04:06
Following my post on 1/8/08 the snag has not gone away though it's getting better.. Running on good fuel and put some injector cleaner through has made the misfire go away in a shorter time and the car is a lot more responsive, it goes very well after a couple of minutes on 3 pots!!
Ive had the codes read and there were 8,
1700 MIL request from transmission module - Whats MIL?   0303 Cyl 3 misfire detected signal low.   0354 Ignition coil D Pri/secondary circuit.   0110 IAT Circuit Signal high - Intake Air Temp? - What's that?   0500 VSS- Vehicle Speed Sensor? - What's that?   0304 Cyl 4 misfire detected signal low   0170 O2 sensor Signal low - Lamda?   0302 Cyl 2 misfire detected.  I'm told that these codes may be old and have change the plugs and coil pack. the codes were removed but the following day the misfire returned - sadly! The orange emissions light (not EML as said in last post) is on permanently but once warmed the car goes very well. I've played with M/bikes, Cars and planes for 50 years but I'm stumped with all these wiggly amps which control things these days.
Thanks for any further advice

See if somebody close to you can delete out the codes, and see what returns...  ...might be worth sending a msg to Taxi Driver, I think he has a cheapo Tech2

Hello Again
Just had the codes read again, FREE second read  with Autoelectrics, Bridgemead, Swindon. The new ones are 0340 CMP Sensor Circuit (Cam Sensor??) and 1613 Immobiliser no or wrong signal. Out went 0110,0500, 0302. I am wondering if it is the cam sensor, with the loss of the No 2 pot misfire code and with a new dispack and plugs fitted. I unplugged and cleaned the connectors last week. I'll have a look at the other posts about it, perhaps they will give me some clues.  In the mean time if anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears!!
Thanks in advance

Hello all
Thanks for the support, sorry not to have replied earlier but I had a small stroke last w/end and have been a bit behind myself lately! feeling OK now though. Will get round to the Cam sensor asap, Cam belt, w/pump etc due so will have a go at those too during my enforced holiday.
