Right,
before i go ahead and do a full service on the omega. I need to have a good guess. Basicly from the front end im getting a knocking noise that is pritty loud.
It hard to narrow down but i imagine a few parts might be needing attention. One other main problem is very vauge steering. Any ideas what causes this? hoping its not a full rack replacement!

Knocking sounds like the droplinks are shot. Easy fix about £10-£14 each side. :)

I'd guess at droplinks and wishbones :-? :-? :-?

Vagueness I would put down to wishbones and/or track rods/idler.
Need to look for play in suspension/steering to prove.

First off 'drop links' next would be wishbones, good one's available from factors for £30 per pair drop links, £55 per pair of wishbones. Not sure of the Vauxhall price of drop links but wishbones are very expenses £250 approx per pair, the other item to look at would be the steering idier. Good luck.

Do drop links 1st as these are cheapest & easiest to do (£20 pair + ½hr per side) - this should clear knocking & may help with vagueness dependant on level of wear. Reassass at this stage. Next if req'd wishbones, then steering idler/track rods.
