High cloud has just rolled in. So, was it a good sight? To quote Patrick Moore, "We simply don't know".  ;) ;D

Go to the moon then head West a bit into the constellation of Perseus. Got a pair of bins, Spongebob?

Apparently so. If you have a digital camera and a tripod (no, please, don't go there!), you could set it on a 30 second exposure and see what you get. However it is a naked-eye object. I would be more help if it wasn't for this high cloud that's rolled in.  :y

Caught sight of it with my small binoculars during a break in the clouds. Looks like a fuzz ball, while all the stars around are pin sharp light sources. Could have got the big telescope out of the loft...but then again, it's cold outside. I'll stick to looking at the pics on spaceweather.com  :y

What's special about the house behind? No, I shouldn't ask and there's a law against it, too!  ;D ;D ;D

Really clear sky here at the moment. Moon is in the east and comet is directly above. Takes a bit of finding but is worth a look through a pair of bins.

Tried to find this last night about 11ish.  No joy.  There was a bright object to the right (south) of the moon and same elevation but even through bins it just looked like a bright star or planet.

What are you actually looking for?

At about 11 look high up, slightly to the East and bit North. With the naked eye, it looks like a star, but with small binoculars, you'll find that while the other stars are pin-prick sharp, the comet looks like a fuzzy ball. Here in London, it is only one of a handful of "stars" visible to the naked eye when you first step outside (before your eyes become accustomed to the dark), so just look around and you should find it.  :y
