hi all having my 2,2cd petrol estate 2001model converted to lpg next month . have been quoted £1300 inclusive of vat. 2 years warranty.
does this seem a good price?.

Couple of questions... Have you checked that it's a sequential system and also that they have experience of converting a 2.2 Omega?
Also, have you considered doing it yourself? I paid less than half that to do my v6 and it's not hard if you can use a spanner!

Price is fine as long as its the right lpg system for the Omega and the place know what they are doing with an Omega...must be sequential...
As said about half that to get the kit then fit it yourself...

hi i have considered doing it myself but are there any implications regarding insurance.also whre can i get the kit at the right price.

Insurance isn't really an issue. You just go to an approved installer and have it inspected if they require a certificate.
The kit I have sent you details for is proven to work on the Omega with very little work required!! Mine ran near enough straight from the box. You will need a laptop though to do the calibration and mapping, which is all explained clearly in the instructions. Plus, as there are already several of us running the Motogas kit you'll find plenty of tech support here :y :y :y

I read your comments regarding a DIY gas conversion with great interest as I hope to buy a 2.2 Auto estate with 35k miles this week and was seriously considering a lpg conversion. I am reasonably adept DIYer and would be most grateful if you could pass on to me details of the kit etc. I have been quoted £1800 down here in the darkest depths of Hamshire.
Regarding insurance and inspection do you not get a certain reluctance from an installer to do this as surely you are taking work from them?

I have just told my insurers "the car is being converted" and no paperwork has been requested :y
Say "DIY" and expect trouble ;)

Good point although as I work in insurance one has to be a bit careful. Its not easy pleading ignorance when its my job to handle claims and read policy wording. :o :y :y
