I quite like Old Pulteney, the most northerly mainland Scotch, or Laphroaig, a rather tasty islay malt, but yes, agree that some blends are cack.  Particularly some of the grain whiskys that originate not more than 10 miles from me, such as Old Cameron......

Not even to clean the paint brushes.......    :'(

I remember the last time I asked the barmaid if she had a Black Bush... :-[

Seeing as we are talking whiskies...

I have some very rare single malts...

1960 Strathisla

1963 Strathisla

25 year old Millburn

12 year old Millburn (1 of only 8 left in the world)

23 year old St. Magdalene

15 George & JG Smiths Glenlivet

Most of the above are independent bottlings at cask strength and non chill-filtered.

some others...

Laphroaig

Bushmills 10 yo

Glenfiddich

Glenmorangie - 3 varieties

Glenrothes

Glen Ord

Scapa

Highland Park

Tomatin

Tormore

... and the list goes on...

I'm also a member of the Scottish Malt Whisky Society http://www.smws.co.uk so if anybody wants to visit the Leith vaults and try some really special stuff - give me a shout  :y

Oh and I have a very special bottle of spuds (poteen) in the garage - great for cleaning the alloys!

As it turns out I have got you an empty bottle for Christmas :D. I go between Oddbins and Llewelyns tasting the malts at christmas before buying the usual and then fall asleep on the way home. Luckily the wife drives ;D
