anyone know why i developed a slight misfire which seems worse when under load ie when in third gear trying to pick up speed when you know you should be in second really for the speed you are doing it seems to kick off more round corners changed plugs today no different pullled each lead of one by one but it didnot change the engine note on any of them you would not know it had a misfire on tickover it sounds ok just under a bit of load it appeares when starting of quick until you get the revs up then it goes away any ideas would be appreciated :'(

Duff leads breaking down, or the DIS (coil) pack?
Was there any oil in the plug wells, or little lines up the sides of the plug caps?

Have you still got the spark plugs you pulled out?
If so inspect the white insulators for any black lines up towards the contact, indicating tracking of the HT. It may be that a lead has started to break down, and although you have new plugs, the lead is providing a leakage path up the side.
I had something similar w.r.t. the problem only being apparent under 'wrong gear' type load. I blamed all sorts of things, but when I pulled the plugs out to do a compression test, pot 3's plug was really obviously suffering. As it was Sunday, and I had no spares, I just cleaned the plug insulator ceramic, and the inside of the HT lead where it sits against this, problem gone. :)
Edit: Too slow! ;D

not so sure what you mean about white lines but the plug holes were oily so the cam cover seals need doing but i cleaned them all before new plugs were put in would a good squirt of wd in the holes let me know if the spark is tracking to the head it ran the same as soon as the plugs were changed and holes cleaned i would have thought you could get a few miles of good performance before the oil seeped in again thanks
