Post by: laurie on 17 September 2008, 18:09:01
Just checked my heated seats and none of them work, front or back. Can you tell me what i could check. I have checked the fuses and all are correct and not blown.

Worth checking the obvious first..are they plugged in under the seat bases?

The heater mats have a tendency to burn out .. often burning holes in the seats as they do !! If you have a multimeter try and check the mats .. if they are "opencircuit" they are FUBARED

I'd be very surprised if all the seats are goosed, it's usually just he driver's that fails due to being used the most. As Entwood suggests, do you have 12v to the seats when switched on? If so, then it appears that you are very unlucky.

yes only my drivers seat was broken but thanks to MarksDTM who told me how to fix it at newent :y :y

It was the Thigh support Part of my seat heater pad that burnt out so i swapped it with the passangers seat

but i dont think Recaro Elite seats have the same thigh support that MV6 Recaros do

The circuits are in series if this helps and you can get new heater pads from VX but it would problably prove very costly as you mite need the services of an upholsterer
