Hi Guys,
(Second) Interview at 10:15am tomorrow.. things are looking good... but I'm V nervous. But please could I ask a favour?
Please look at www.renewholdings.co.uk and www.britanniaconstruction.co.uk
And let me know, in as few words as possible, what you can tell about these companies, by their sites?
Cheers :)

Renewholdings financial info makes interesting reading.....a loss in 2004 and 2005, falling turnover....piss poor profit margin (less than 1%). Big workforce cull last year (20%).
Not one I would invest in......needs somebody special to turn it round.

Renewholdings don't look too bad at all to me. Turnover up 6% in first half 2007, with pre-tax profits up 75%. Most interesting is that the current share price, around 111p is much nearer the 52-week high of 120.75p than the low of 62.50p. That suggests that the market thinks it's in reasonable shape. Notice that this year it has had its National Grid contract renewed, so that's a good sign too.
Wouldn't take any notice of the cut in workforce - in fact, it may well be a leaner, fitter company for that. :y

As a subsidiary of Renewholdings, Britannia Construction looks to be a sound company. It has a good track record, with clients such as Tesco, Colt Cars and the Gloucester Police. It's construction division is broadly based, with interests in the retail, leisure, industrial commercial and educational sectors. Additionally it's civil engineering division has expertise ranging from highway repairs to pedestrianisation schemes, the latter being an important growth area with the greening of city/town centres. Last, but not least, the joinery division looks to be a very interesting area with it's combination of traditional skills and modern technology. :y

Good luck, James! :y

Good luck James :y

:y Good Luck.
-
Best of luck with it :y

From a progammers view BRITANNIA construction site seems more prof.work although not directly related .
And from the pictures this company seems have wide range of applications..
Good luck :y

In todays world no company however big or old can be a sure bet. Long established companys have gone to the wall, by the same token many struggling companies turn poor perfomances around and go on to great things.
Good luck James :y

It was one of those interviews whereas they didn't really show any emotion or feeling on whether they liked me or not :'(
That's not to say it went badly, I was able to answer all their questions, and asked plenty myself, so we shall wait and see.
The IT Director was a bit of a stuffy git... but my potential Boss, Louise, was very nice ::) ;D

One of these pscyometric (sp? :-/) tests? Often they want to know that you can string 2 sentances together, & spell proper.

Now you mention it - he IS an Omega driver! Albeit one with a toy engine.
If I get the job, and give him this website, I think this thread will have to be deleted - the stuffy old git might see it!
