Can any one tell me if installing the Headlamp washers from an Elite to a CDX without them is possible (and difficult or not?)
Will the electrics already be on the loom or do I need to get that off thre donor car too?
Any help appreciated.

MAtt, you'll need the bigger washer bottle and possibly any different mountings, and some pipe!
In essence the justs will need holes drilling in the plastics, and then plumbing in to the pump, which on headlamp washer applications is a separate unit as it operates at slightly higher pressure than the windscreen pump.
The lectrics will normally be on the same circuit, so it's just a case of ensuring that they are both wired so that they operate together.
It ,may not look factory behind the scenes, but it'll do what it's designed for.
Alternatively you could rig up a secondary washer bottle to do the same thing, just operating the headlamp jets.
Hope this helps.

Wiring all in place, but need relay in relay box.
Different washer bottle, and a bit of pipework...

see... nice and easy!

Looks easy, you can either use the bigger size bottle, or add another standard one, there is enough room.

'Morning folks
Thanks very much for your help.
I guess if I'll start off using all the parts from a donor vehicle and go from there..........
Thanks for the encouragement, much apprieciated. :)

One other thing, is try and look at a car with washer, leave one on, remove the other, see if there is much of a difference in light output, you may find the light cuts off earlier.
-
....Sounds like an idea! I might try looking at one (if I can find such a vehicle open to view as it were) with 'em on to see where things go anyway and follow right routes for the pipes (being cak handed generally)
Thanks for the tip too.

Personally wouldnt bother as it only squirts water on doesnt wipe em !!
PS got bigger bottle spare if you do go ahead, but you would need additional pump I think too they work seperately :-/
-
Ok if I get started and it works out I'll let you know - cheers for the offer.

you will need to use the BIG bottle from a donor which will have the 2nd high pressure pump required to fire the headlight washers :y
this pic might ::) help you see the route of hoses from bottle (removed) to jets, i think the headlight pump is the one i tucked up by fans :-/

...Yeah it is a bit grusome.
I'm getting same from Mark so we'll have to compare notes.
Anyone in London want to lend a hand and takes some pics for a 'how to...'?

its a doddle 1.5 hours start to done easy ! 10 screws get bumper grill and light trims off and the 4 13mm bolts to remove bumper iron then just assemble with new parts :y
-
Sorry for scaring you guys with that pic but it is easy enough to get bumper off:
1. Remove lower bumper screws in wheel arch (mine were very rusted-lots of plus-gas needed)
2. Underbumper (why i jacked front up) prise out centre pins and remove clips holding bumper.
2 1/2. Remove Front Grille
3. Unscrew headlight surround (torx bit req)
4. Unscrew bumper inner screws (behing headlight almost)
5. Unbolt bumper upper mounts (in wheel arch - M6 i think :-/)
6. bumper should now lift away but you'll need to unplug wiring to fog-lights to fully remove but they're only multi-plugs.
7. Inner bumper reinforcing bar is held on with 4 bolts and the washer bottle is inturn screwed into back of this.
Now fit your new big 7L washer bottle. obviously screen wash pump fits as before but you'll have new pump to route to headlights.
Washer jets are bolted to a bracket which is screwed to underside of headlight.
Refitting is reverse of removal ;)
but you'll need to fit new headlamp surrounds (or make hole in your old one) nozzle unclips from end of jet so you can push through surround hole and jobs a good-un :y

yeah ill let you no may make a start do today but gota cut my lawns but if the bumber is realt that easy than i may take it off make it easyer wouldnt it but those pictures do look like half the cars missing
-
good picture though i will use it for routing of pipes
-
......yup definately a good picture (frightening as it is to me...) but as I've got a new grill and just found a place that has a new front bumper that I like, it can all be done at the same time!
Cheers one and all! :y
