Title: Rear springs ??

hi.....what sort of job is replacing rear springs on a 2001  V6 2.6 CD saloon?? anyone done them ?? - ive done loads of springs but not on these - thanks  :y :y

40-50 minutes, really easy and we have a maintenance guide for it

thanks marks.....am i right in thinking, on ramp, rear wheels off, compress springs with spring clamp, remove, clamp up new springs, put in place and release clamp.........job done ......yea?!?

car on axel stands

pop the shock bolts off, abs sensors, unclip the brake pipes from their mounting clips, take the anti-roll bar bolts out, lower the diff...

out rolls the springs.

Make sure the car is nice and high at the rear  :y

'kin wot???..............just been quoted by vaux dealer to supply and fit x2 rear springs........wait for it..........................£400 odd !!! :D - the springs are just over £200 a pair !!!!!!!!!!! - gordon bennet..........is that arip off or wot???!!!!!....i asked him if there was still a car attached to them !!!!!!!!

trouble is i am a fair distance from you...

That price is just insane!

Springs should be £40 odd each, i put KYB's on which are the OEM fit.

Its about a 2 hour job so i guess Vx are saying £100 per spring, and £100 per hour to fit  :o

Its less than an hour if you don't mess about ;)

Shock bolts are sometimes a git as we found out...

I know roughly what to do, would take me 2 hours.

Brake clip things are a barrrsted too, they are always rusted in.

Get the springs from Sutton Auto Factors (in Nottingham and now Lincoln to) andif you get stuck, I can help fit them

the R Springs £208.14 (pair)!

I don't want to shock you, but if you have a TC,

the R Springs £208.14 (pair)!

£80 a pair if you get KYB's from a local motor factor

Bloody hell Mark - just seen the price of wishbones!!!! bit better than TC price - just bought a set online quickly in case they've made a mistake ;D
