Hi hope someone can help ive got a 1996 2.0L omega manual when iam sat in traffic and the cooling fan kicks in sometimes the engine's rev's drop and the engine cut's out how can i stop this. :-/ many thanks gary

Ensure breathers, throttle body are spotlessly clean, and clean ICV.
Also check that fan isn't stiff, alternator putting out right power, and battery is good.

hi i've cleaned the pipes and icv today. the battery is new but i will check the fan many thanks for your reply cheers

Not sure if its the same on you 2.0 but my 3.0 was doing something similar. Every timethe fan cut in the revs would dip alarmingly close to stall then recover and bounce up and down for a second. Turns out one of the fan fuses was blown. So as the engine temp rose instead of cutting in at low speed and keeping the temp down they did...well nothing. Once the engine reached a high temp (97 in my case) the ECU cut in the high speed aux fan at full on speed which caused the dip and recovery of revs. Now I've replaced the fuse the half speed fans work again and it doesnt happen any more. It was a green fuse in the relay and fuse box under the bonnet.
