What are KYB Gas-A-Just shocks like?
Mine are soft and bouncy and these look adjustable for towing.
-
i recommend monroe adjustables. fitted them to my 1994 mig over 8 year ago when dad owned it and when i get time will swap them over onto my 1998 mig. they come with air pipes leading to a guage and shraeder valve to adjust settings from 1.5 upto 4.5bar which i fitted in the right hand storage cupboard in boot.
-
got the same shcraeder valve and gauge set up in the back of the estate, but they blow up the std air shocks so i can set the ride height to where ever i want regardless of towing the 2 ton caravan or a car transporter trailer, also got lowered uprated rear irmsher springs as ell as poly rear bushes so when i want to blast it a bit ,just let the air out of the shocks and its noce an low!!! :y
-
they last really well and when i check them i let all air out and then check the bounce just to be sure they ok and not just depending on the airbag. run them at 2bar normally 3ish when full of family and their junk and between 3.5-4 when heavy towing.

Can't find a model number and price for the Monroes - any one have an idea also do the KYBs have the shrader valve?
-
OK
KYB do not do adjustables
Monroe do the LA361
Cannot find LA361 anywhere.
Does anyone know where to get them from?

Hi Martin,
I'd advise you to stick a banger up your bum hole and light it, That's pretty shocking :D :D :D ;D

Oh well - any other makes of air assisted shocks - none in country and no production planned.
Why is it so difficult just buying a pair of air assisted shocks?

QUestion
Are you after adjustable shocks or shocks that maintain a constant level.
e.g. Do you want the Monroe type where you can use an airline to increase or decrease the ride height or the KYB gas-a-just type which self regulate the ride height ?
Or the whole hog of a built in compressor witth sensor etc?

That sort - Basically when towing I want to keep the back up better, also just to help counter the weight of my gas tank as well.
The main thing appears to use ride height adjustable shocks IF YOU CAN FIND THEM.
Also they get very confused with adjustable damping shocks

Well in reality the KYB gas-a-just will do the same thing without any intervention.

How?
What makes it increase the pressure?

Once the rear suspension has bounced a few times, it pumps the intrnal gas pocket up......thats the theory anyway.
I knwo somebody on here has fitted some but, I cant recall who it was.

I might give up and get those - and an Eibach spring kit.
