my car is running nice now new dis pack leads and plugs no faults showing up on p clip test thanks for all the help and advice if i can return it i will i now love my car again one thing if any one knows how to stiffen the rear suspension as the tow bar hits the floor when its got a load in it that would be great to know i put new shocks on it what do you all think of spring assistors them rubber inserts you can buy :y

monroe air shocks. :y  they have pipework running upto a guage and a schrader valve to alter pressure. served me well for over 8 years. and only 2nd best to elite self levelling

have a good look at springs and see if the ends are missing. They brake easy.
Are you sure its not been lowered with mv 6 suspension or similar?

Or KYB Gas-A-Just at less than half he Monroe cost.......plus the monroe ones are getting harder to source

Must admit seems odd...I have a 98 tourer, lovely car to drive 2.5v6 standard springs and shocks...even with a v6 engine (200+kg) and gearbox (75kg) in the back it doesnt rub and the towbar is comfortably off the floor...seems like there may be something wrong with your rear end perhaps???
