The vehicle is a 2.5TD BMW engine 1999.
I only noticed it this morning when I had to accelerate past a lorry on an incline. It just sort of bogged down above 3K, and then refused to go above 4K.
No warning lights or anything and it wasn't doing it last week. I'm going to change the fuel filter tomorrow as the car is run on home brewed Biodiesel and has been perfectly for some time now. The last time I changed the fuel filter would have been about 4000 miles ago so it's due anyway.
No modifications done yet as although I have a chip and better autobox ready to go on I haven't quite got round to it yet.
Any other suggestions just in case it isn't the fuel filter?
Any help is much appreciated.

try dissconnecting the maf then try driving it ! :y

I agree with Markey Mark, try with MAF unplugged.
Note, if better, does not automatically point to MAF fault!
Before unplugging MAF, do paperclip test. Some tractors can, some can't

Ok, cheers guys. AFAIK I can't do the paperclip test on my car, or was it the Vectra Diesel I killed? I'll have a mooch around for info on the paperclip test. :)

About a 3rd of tractors are paperclippable. Those that aren't, no damage will be done.
