A silly question I know, but where is the air filter located in the engine compartment of the miggy please?
Now there is not the old "frying pan" unit on top of the engine for it I am lost as to where to find it? ::) ::) ::) ::)
I have already located the pollen, oil and fuel filters 8-) 8-) 8-), so this one has left me stumped! ::) ::)
Many thanks!! :y
-
as u look at the engine
from the front
left hand side behind head light its in a big black box dont look like a air filter but it is
-
Left of engine bay undo screws it's under there if I remember correctly.
-
bloody great black box behind drivers headlight ;)
-
screws?
They have had clips on all my Omegas, but as said its the big black square box at the front drivers side of the engine bay.
-
Thanks to all the above for your precise help again! :y :y :y :y
That box did have me wondering, but somehow did not seem right for my old fashioned mechanics brain!! ::) ::) ::) ::) :D :D ;)

Some have torx screws, some have quick release clips.

.....
so this one has left me stumped! ::) ::) ......
Can we assume that your Senator was serviced elsewhere then? ::) Omega's is in the same place. :y :y

Yes indeed Andy, Vx Main Dealer Patchway Motors, Bristol, as I had good money then and was professionally too busy to do simple servicing so just left my car with the professionals to pick up later in the day! .........What luxury!! ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) :D ;)
I still replaced the fuel tank on it though, and various lights / bulbs myself. :y

Took me 30 seconds of looking at that piccie to realise why it looks so wrong ....
its only 2/3 rds of an engine and someone moved one of the pots ... :D :D :D :D :D
I didn't realise there was so much "space" in an engine bay .....
:D :D :D :D :D

Now we may mock that he only has 2/3rds of an engine but it looks much easier to work on don't ya think? ;D

...so just left my car with the professionals ...
A big and IMO mistaken assumption Lizzie.
There are a few true professionals on this sie Lizzie. None of them work for Vx and none of them would charge you for a headgasket as a result of a faulty HBV...

It is of sorts.....but still not worth it!
Lol, this thread has made me chuckle.....the clue to the airfilter location is to follow the rather great big snorkles that connect to it :y :y ;D ;D

Just a note if you undo the clips if it has them watch they do not spring off and vanish down below they can be a bugger to find again :y

lol if you take the airbox off and look behind the drivers headlight in my case you'll be suprised what you might find - i found the security wheel cover tool down their in mine with the x20 lump out haha! and yes there's bags of room to work on the 4pots!
