Hi,
just picked up 2.5 TD CDX Auto and it has the Brake Pad fault warning displayed. The previous owner, who hasn't used vehicle the vehicle for 12 months, says that the pads were changed ready for MOT but got another vehicle. I know the guy and believe what he's said and looking at the pad backing plate they do look very clean. It's dark of course so just a quick look tonight with a torch.
Anyway, taking that the pads are new, is there a known reason why the warning is still displayed? Just after some pointers before investigating tomorrow. The battery was totally flat last week when I first looked at it, and has a new one now.
Thanks
Malcolm

the brake pad wear indicators wear when the disc rubs against them (when the pads get low) so you need to replace the wear sensors :y

Brake pad wear sensor connector fubar.
Not a big job to change

Wow, fantastic resonse, Thanks. My only experience of pad wear indicators has been a contact actually in the pad and wire onto connector on pad. So these are a separate item. Would these not have been supplied with pads or are they a separate supplied item? Should a comprehensive motor factors stock them or will it be genuine GM part?
Thanks

getting the proper gm part would probably be your best bet for it fitting properly, its a seperate unit not sold with the pad afaik

they are a seperate item. Any good motor factors will do them. There is one each side on the pre-faceliftd and i think only 1 on the facelift model IIRC

Do you need to change that when pads are renewed or only if ficked?

When u change pads its easy to break the sensors!
