Title: gasket? V6 manifold to cat on a 2.5
Post by: Varche on 19 October 2008, 16:30:45
Since doing the gearbox on my Omega the exhaust has been a bit on the noisy side. I have just dropped off one of the cats to see what the old "gasket" looks like and was surprised to see there wasn't one.

If there is normally something there it maybe got lost while the gearbox was repaired!

Two questions please.

1. What is there normally between the two faces ( I suspect it is a large flat "asbestos like washer" about two inch int diameter and two and a half ext diameter?

2. Rather than go through the true trauma of either an exhaust place(no one has petrol Omegas in Spain!) here or an Opel dealer here what is the best place in the UK for my friend to get two from and post them? Dealer or an exhaust quick fitting place?

thanks in anticipation

OEM ones are better, but pattern one's are OK given the relative ease to change. OEM much more expensive.

For ease though, get it from a dealer :y
