Hi all anyone know how many miles you can do when your red light on the fuel guage comes on.i dont know if its the same with all omegas or just mine but if i put in like £20 of fuel and do 15 miles the red light goes on then goes off again about a 1mile down the road later.can any tell if its ok etc :y

I tend to rely on the MID range warnings, which start at about 51 miles, and count down to everything flashing.................before you run out of petrol! ::) ::) ::) :D :D :D ;)
-
Light comes on with about 50miles to go
MID warnings at 31 miles to go
Light flashing with arounf 20 miles to go
My Tractor tends to die before hitting zero, MV6 will go some way beyond 0.
Thing is, its a PITA if you run out, so I guess don't risk it ;) (not that I practice what I preach ::))

mine only starts flashing when its hit 30miles range remaining- which is good as any sooner would make me want to rip the mid display out haha!
i'v ran mine right down to 0 and it still kept going for another 3-4 miles and then had the missfire when i next started it so got the jerry can out ;)

i never run it that low so wouldnt know............always fill up when it hits a quarter :y

well only reason i did was because i was on holiday and had no money for 4 days waiting till pay day haha!

the light flashes is that the red fuel guage that does that

I got into single figures in my tractor before I got to the petrol station ::)
Managed to roll onto a forecourt when I had a Nova :y

in the 3.5 years i have owned mine, i have had the fuel light come on once!
No point running it into the red IMO, all the crap at the bottom of the tank. I usually brim it when it gets to the last white line before the red.
-
...not to mention the possible destruction of the cat/cats!!
Not worth the risk in my opinion :-/
The above are words of experience ::) :-[

500 miles or more - been on over a week already
-
all depends on your driving style aswell
try not to forget that your actual fuel gauge for your tank goes on the amount of fuel left in it, not the amount of possible miles left worth of fuel
a gallon of fuel could be 20 miles or 40 miles, does the manual not tell you how much fuel (in litres or gallons) is in the tank when the light comes on??

same as, except i get 2 miles when it hits 0, well thatwas the only time i ran out :)

tbh honest i think the omegas fuel guage is utter pants its useless if you brim it and nail it down the road for a mile your full tank turns into 3/4's of a tank i dont rely on it atall!
MID if programmed correctly is very accurate unless its counting down from 31miles and you only put £10 in the mid wont awknowledge this usually so common sense applies

Check the sensor, if i brim mine, its 50 miles before it even moves!

sensor eh? where would that live then?

There is a float sensor in the tank.... been meaning to get mine out and give it a clean, its getting slow to respond when the tank is low.
If yours moves that fast, check it out, even when i drive mother tunnies 3.0 Estate fully loaded and toe down, it gets 90 miles to the first quarter.

My Fuel light comes on when it hits the red, then flashes when it gets to the bottom of the red. Experimentation tells me that when its flashing I have about 4 litres left in the tank so plenty of time to find a petrol station.
