Hi,
My battery went flat on my Elite on Tuesday so I locked it using the central locking and I think I blipped the button twice on the remote for the dead locking. Now te remote won't unock the car and I can't seem to turn the key in the door lock. Any ideas???

If you`re unsure about the deadlocks put the key in and turn it `till you get resistance, keep turning it and door should unlock if not deadlocked
-
Yeah I've tried turnig the key in the lock and it win t turn in any direction at all.
-
Again, if not deadlocked, it takes a fair force to open -- you think the key will snap before the door opens !!
-
I'll go and try it again, thanks guys.

Been and tried again but no luck. The key just won't turn!! Any ideas?

This has come up a few times. One thread is here:

IIRC - you can only do the boot light trick on pre facelift Omegas.
It would help us if you could update your forum profile with your car's year and model. Thanks.

wd 40 in the lock they dont get much use with the blip being main entry. As said it will be very stiff at best with no power it will feel like the key will break. Wd and Be brave. I suppose you need to be certain which way your turning it? Just been out and checked turn anti clockwise to open.

Assuming you can't open the boot cos your car is a facelift, and you don't dare force the key any harder :-? (My preface lift car was dead locked when the battery went completely falt & there was no way it was going to open via the key :-/) you also have the option of connecting 12volts to the starter motor and then remote unlocking your car. You'll probably have to jack the front corner up a little so you can get under. :y
