Title: Rear headrests - are they removable ?
Post by: kevpuk on 24 October 2008, 16:00:13
Trying to figure out if these fellas come off - I know they fold down when folding seats, but my little ones car seat is quite high backed and it is a reeeealll squeeze as the headrest does not go high enough....

Car is facelift (2000) Elite estate....

When you adjust the height if you carry on They should come straight out (there is a locking spring clip on one of the legs.
Hope this helps

See the 2 holes that the headrest goes through?  One will have a little button/tab on it.  Press this in when the headrest is at the top of its normal travel and it should come out.

I actually leave my centre one out so i can see behind me..

Yep, my car has a sticker on the underside of the boot lid showing you how to place the head rest sorry restraint (god that is a little anal).

I keep my restraint there too. I very rarely have 5 up in the car, so much so that I tend to tuck the unclipped middle seatbelt beind the rear seats aswell.

First thing I did when I bought mine was ditch that head restraint. Much more rear vis. without the damn thing. I got fed up with it falling out of its' cubby hole in the boot, too, so now it's in the loft.

I just leave mine in place these days, after all there's often a big white caravan following me when I use the Omega.  ;D  :y :y
