hiya,
sorry if this as been asked many times before.
my omega as just failed MOT on the headlight,,, the bloke said he cant get a proper beam image,,, it is very discoloured ,yellowish lense, i`m thinking of just replacing it,, my car is a 96 elite on a P plate,, which year of unit do i need to do a straight replacement??

get some t-cut & polish them on the outside, ive just done mine & youll get them looking like new, also finished off with autoglym just to be picky ;)

or... straight swap to the projector headlight unit which is anything upto 98/99 unless im wrong, watch out for hids unless your going to go the full auto leveling and washers

Most of the advice is to use 1200 grit wet and dry on the headlights, this will get rid of the scale on the headlights and remove any of the dirt and grim as well. Once this has been done then use t-cut and polish up the headlights. Or just buy some projector headlights that are fitted to the pre-facelift direct fit 98 reg upto 99.

as ngrainqey says, the projector type are far better & well worth fitting,[ another thing im looking for] but to get it through the MOT just give the lense a t-cut youll be surprised how well they come up :y, itll then give you 12 months to find projectors :y
