hi guys does this look like head gasket gone ??
sorry about the pic ! :y(http://)
-
looks like mayo in oil filler cap.caused by long filler neck (condensation) and short journeys.
make sure it has a weekly motorway blast, nothing to panic about. :y
-
If v6, I reckon its OK, if 4 pot, I'd be suspicios.
-
hope it is that !! the back of the cam cover (on the right ) is totally blocked as well < i think where the fire trap is !!
l :y :y
yes it is 2.0l estate !!
-
As the boy said,it may be a worry on a 4 pot engine. :-[
-
if i do a paper clip test will it show the fault up !!
if not is there any other way of checking ???
oil very black needs changing !
water seems clean !
have not started it as picking it up on sat for a mate !!
-
If it's a V6, not likely to be a concern.
If it's a 4cyl then I agree with TB, might be HG.
Any other symptoms?
HG is not hard on the 2.0 / 2.2 if you take your time, not hard at all.
I would encourage you to have a go yourself :y

i shall do got used to these now as my old omega the cam pulley (wood druff) key snapped so had to take head of and replace !!

i wouldn't if he's asking weather a paperclip test will show a HG failure?? wtf :D
-
i was only asking ;D ;D never done a paperclip test yet no need to i got good car and runs a dream ! :D
if u dont ask you get no answers :y

alot of short journeys? Worth changing the oil and see if it shows similar signs. Make sure its as thick and colour is good. Not milky. Is it loosing water? Change antifreeze according to the service schedule. If left it turns acidic and eats the hg.
Have to say if the car gets regular trips over 15 mins
Then it dont0look good.

We've all got to start somewhere and taking the p1ss is not going to help.

simply stating that changing a HG is not a simple job for a novice who may not have a lot of tools and could get themselves into trouble particularly if they have no mechanical knowledge.
would you recomend someone "to have a go" on your car? ::)
best of luck :y
