Hi, it's time to change oil in my mig and now I have a question.
Last time I have put in there Mobil 10w-40 but now I have some doubts. There is little nocking in the uper side of the engine (i'm gessing of that hidro... for valves). Now I'm thinking on changing oil to Shell Helix 10w-40. I dont know vhat is better solution for my car.
So if you have some advice for oil selection tell me.
what is the best oil for it, for quiet and smooth run.

The only oil I use is Vauxhall 10W 40 for my 2.0 16v as recomended by the guys on this forum.
I do an oil & filerchange every 6 months, regular oil changes keeps inside of the engine clean,plus eventually keeping those tappets quiet

It really doesn't matter what brand of oil. They're both the same viscosity range and both presumably meet reasonably modern quality standards (look for an ACEA A3 oil or better these days). Don't believe the marketing claims that they will clean your engine or adhere to the surfaces, etc.
Noises at the top end could be a slightly lazy hydraulic tappet which might respond well to a couple of quick oil changes (at say 1000 mile intervals). The fuel injectors aren't silent on these engines either, so it could simply be that.
Vauxhall semi synthetic 10W40 bought on a trade card (4 for the price of 3) is the most cost effective choice of lubricant for an Omega IMHO.

as i'm from croatia trade cards dont do mutch for me :)
we hawe here genuine GM oil but i dont knov what is in there and most of people are putting mobil or shell or valvoline in. they say that shell is better but i dont know how smart is changing brand of oil. I was thinking of putting the same Mobil S 10w-40 as the last time but after this sound from tapplets i dont know.
can this noise can be loverd by changing to different oil.
price of genuine GM is even lover than mobil therefore im little skeptic about it.

Remember the likes of Mobil, Shell, etc. have expensive advertising campaigns to pay for and GMs oil will be rebadged oil from a major manufacturer anyway, so effectively the same stuff. Look beyond the brand name. :y

that i know. have to see what standards omega demands, cause i've never look at that. car was bought with Mobil 0-30 or something like that but i change it to 10-40. because Mobil was in car i put it again.
the only question here that is worth is:
is it beter to buy current or changing (on better i think better for engine, how gud this is cause that will be the 3. tipe of oil in it from the day i bought it)

There are no issues with changing brands of oil. Put a different brand in every oil change and the engine won't care.

just get the best value stuff that meets the standards demanded by Opel change it twice as frequently. that will be much better than runnig 10k on some expensive stuff when most of the cost is the ad campaign.
FYI, mine has always been changed at 5k and never clogged the breathers because the oil never gets cruddy enough
