I was in a convery belt carwash on sunday and some old fart stalled at the end and couldnt start his car so I was stuck under the water spray bit for about 5 minutes.. I started hearing water inside the car and I noticed water dripping from under the dash into the passenger footwell, I turned off the air recirc and suddenly about a litre of water came gushing in and started sloshing about in my footwell..
Has anyone else experienced a leak like this before? ;D

Lifted the scuttle cover and found this

The drain plug was blocked, with glass! Cut my finger to shit poking it out.. Nice one RAC windscreens ;D

A wet and dry vacuum or stiff wire is probably the best way of making sure the drain is clear :)

I'm going to give it a blast with the compressor :)

That's just happened to me. Rain water when demisters turned on, leaking into passenger footwell. Started removing glovebox, got stuck, looked on this forum and found this post. It must be the blocked scuttle drain. I'll have a go unlocking it.

And it can stink like a sewer to :(

Had same problem - misting windows.
Found damp mat on passenger footwell. The scuttle hole was full of water nearly upto the pollen filter. Even more worrying that a bunch of wires were well under water.
Bung hole was full of leaves and crud - water soon went after all cleared. No more problems :)

Done it. Unblocked it. Water was fresh so didn't stink. Tasted alright too. :-X
