Spent a 20 min car trip last nite trying to trace where a crackling noise was coming from in the elite. At one stage had it down to the tweeters on the doors going kaputt. then thought it was something in the windscreen vents. changed the airflow away from the windscreen with no joy. It was so loud, you could hear it over the stereo. Was starting to worry if the amp was going or something was shaking loose.
stopped at manky D's for a mcflurry, & noticed half a dozen dry leaves in the scuttle. removed them & silence all the way home.
Felt a right tube!! ;D

It's amazing how the human ear becomes better than a dog's when it comes to hearing noises in our own cars. And equally, how we cannot hear a word when our wives ask us to put the rubbish out. ;D ;D ;D

For the past few years I never had any problems with funny noises in my cars until I had digital hearing aids fitted! Now I'm tempted to take them out except when servicing. :)
