Hi Guys, not sure if anyone can help, but I bought one of these "My Naff Code Reader" tools off a well known auction site, and it seems to do the job very well, I had to upgrade to this from the serial Elm 323 as new laptop doesnt have a serial port and those serial adapters aint no use.
it states in the description that it can be used to code the chips in the keys and the fobs which is one of the main reasons I bought it. I dont have access to the dealers here, never mind pay the robbing fees.
Has anyone else got one of these and used it for this purpose? any tips?
thanks in advance

Consult the manufacturer.
Unless you have the up to date version, I don't think it can do keys. I think they provide free (or cheap) updates as long as its not a really old interface.
If it came from eGay and was less than the £300 or so that the importer charges, it will be an illegal copy, and you won't be able to update the software.

"My Naff Code Reader" is sold as VAUX-COM in the UK sold from
here : http://www.ilexa.co.uk/acatalog/vauxcom.html
£495.00 + vat
so going to be a copy with old software I suspect.
Does the same things as cheaper Opel-scanner that I have.

Advanced can do keys (which is the standard version sold for non-CAN)

Vaux-com ["My Naff Code Reader"] with latest genuine software will do keys.
Opel- scanner Advanced [ serial connector] & Opel-scannerCan version USB connector will do keys

I have the same one (but the USB version), it can do the remote part of the keys, but only ones that have had a new battery and became decoded due to it being flat.
It can remove keys from the system, as i found there were 4 keys coded to my car, but i only had 2, so i deleted the rest.

Sorry that's what I meant - OpelScanner, i've never used "My Naff Code Reader" but would like to see one in action to compare.

Eh? So just what a resync would do? :-/

Its the latest USB 2008 version and supports 1992 - 2007 models, including the can bus.
The drop down list of models in the menu confirms this. it also covers the saab 93 and 95 models.
Ill hang fire and wait to see if anyone esle has used this as i only have one key and fob for the car that I want to code new ones for. last thing I need is no keys at all!!
cheers
