Got to grips with her cleaned all the breathers checked plugs etc no help runnig really lumpy at tickover warning lights coming on stop engine leave for a few seconds start again no lights but still lumpy..
Anyone any ideas???(had a new cat and stat within last 2 weeks)

You need to find out why that light is on, by reading the fault codes.
Cam sensors are a common(ish) failure on 2.2....
-
Would the cam sensor cause lumpy tickover (just wondering if i spilled coolant on it when i did the stat) will have a look now.
-
By lumpy, is it misfiring, or just erratic?
-
re new cat - was it just the cat you had replaced or was it the whole front section of exhaust? If it is the whole front section check that it has 2 CATs and two sensors for the 2.2 rather than only one cat and sensor ie for 2 litre - some garages fit the 2.0 on a 2.2 and claim its OK and it aint!!!!!!!!!! get them to fit the right one
You defintely need your codes read Vxall will charge you £80 for this and preferably by someone who knows what they are doing and can interpret the results. I see your in Cheshire if your anywhere near Widnes then I defintely recomend this man http://www.asautocare.co.uk/index.html gives a discount to OOF members

most likey cam sensor, common prob. Make sure spark plugs are ok too, and not full of oil.

Hi.
It must be a misfire feels like its not running on all 4 cylinders, As for the cat i did notice the one coming off had 2 cats and the one going on only had one but didnt think much of it it still had places for both lambda sensors. Cat fitted about two weeks ago been ok for all that time???
No oil in the plug sockets and im in runcorn can the guy in widnes do the error code check???

Your plug wells will be full of water or oil.
Take the Eco strip off and check.
If you feel under the scuttle, is it soaking wet?

Yes he has a genuine tech2 and more importantly knows how to use it.
Give him a ring - mention OOF and you should get a discount on price

While you're there ask for a check on your autobox software - if it needs upgrading have it done the difference in the autobox is phenominal
