Hello there im new to this good place. need some expert help. I have a hole in the exhaust , there is a larger story behind this but at the moment I have to go what is now. Im getting serious power issues like if the car is running outta petrol. or car isnt picking up speed quick enough and would jump all over the place if i step on it.
Ive been through a lot of changes. , new spark plugs, MAF sensor , o2 sensor bank 1, cleaned out throttle body, new fuel filter , fuel treatment ,and shes still bad got error code 0170.felt vibration under my feet today after a run. but exhaust is blowing out big time massive long hole AFTER the 2 cats and it is the two pipes between the two middle boxes and the last box(silencer)
would this be the root cause of my issues?
the problem happened months ago when she took three turns to start gradually got worse over time then its like she has to warm up to idle nicely was quite rought when shes cold.
its an omega 2.2 cdx auto would appriecate any help fellas/lassies good site by the way :)

A hole in the exhaust wouldn't help.

I recently changed exhaust due to it blowing (ie a hole).
For amusement I unzipped the boxes with an angle grinder. The perforated through pipe had totally disintegrated - fell out as a pile of rusty.
So although the hole itself was small, the exhaust was in fact on the verge of blocking up once the stuff that looks like a dead pooch got sucked into the pipe.
..so maybe you have a blocked exhaust..?
Suggest you fix that and go from there.

thanks i will have to change the exhaust anyway as the two boxes and tail pipe are rotton. would a large hole or blocked exhaust cause my symtoms its getting worse. 230 quid could i get it any cheaper woe is me!!

where can i get cheaper new exhausts for this car?? can you help??
thanks lads.

cant help due to location..but if you plan to use the car for long, go after an original exhaust ( and if you dont want to disturb the consumption) ..they really last long..

taking the offer of 230 probably GM or bosal.

from the previous threads I remember , the other members dont like bosal :-/

I think the best options are
- cheapo eternal or the like (c. £120)
- GM c.£300
- stainless (£400?+)
230 sounds like Kwit fit which will be eternal quality at twice the price.

My kwik-fit exhaust is a joke. Looks like its ten years old judging from the rust when its only a year young!
-
To be fair my Kwik Fit exhaust lasted 4 years and sounded fine - no complaints.
The original GM ones (nb not necessarily the same as the replacement you buy from Vx :-/) seem to be good for 6 years.

Re-reading the thread if budget is really limited, it will be good idea to keep some extra bucks for unexpected repairs.. :-/
