I was traveling up a hill with speed humps the other week and had to dodge some idiot coming the opposite way who was speeding forcing me to bounce awkwardly on a speed hump, before asked I was doing around 15mph if that and had to go to the centre of the road as cars were parked to the left of me.
My car now drives like a crap and I discovered yesterday the manifold is ticking when cold >:(
What are the chances of more damage having occurred.
I am going to be removing the manifold tomorrow to get a better look.
More work :(

First question has to be.....did the car actualy ground out?
-
I think it did cos there was an almighty thud >:( at the time I stopped and had a brief look under the car but had to continue as was late for work.
The car though once warmed up drives nice.

Any other Ideas on this would be greatly appreciated as its been a while since doing any major work on my car, just thinking their maybe more damage than 1st thought you never know.

could you have crushed a cat bud ?? :-/

That was a thought of mine but shall be giving good look over tomorrow so should be the moment of truth, shall be posting up with my findings.

Well I had a look at the exhaust today and the manifold, the exhaust still looks solid and I checked all the joins and they look to be leak free. Damn it was cold :(
The Manifold however I found a loose bolt in the top row and missing 2 bolts in the lower row which annoyed me fortunately no snapped studs.
I had to fit a new bolt in the one which was loose, used my tap & die tool to clean and check the thread in the head, bolt tightened in spot on.
There were 2 lower bolts which i managed to put new bolts in as they were loose but I dont hold much hope for them at the moment as I had a garage do some work on the car a while back when they did the HG and I think they may have mucked the threads up good and proper.
Still moment of truth will be in the morning with a cold start.
My plans for the future are to totally remove the manifold and retap all the threads and fit a new set of bolts.

My other half has been known to do this a couple of times. Its a bit of a pain but perfectly doable. Good luck

Cheers :y its annoying as I have done the manifold a few times now what with failing gaskets and bolts, I had it spot on before taking to a garage and knocking the underside of the car.
Last time I removed the manaifold it was refitted and was spot on all torqued correctly, now regretting letting a garage get there mits on my omega and going near the speed humps always the way a short can cause problems ::).
Just need to find a good dry, warm day and crack on with it.
