hy, cant find a haynes manuel for my omega 2.5 t.d, been on ebay but only come under petrols, can anyone help or does any one have one to sell? thanks.
-
Is there a particular job you're trying to do?
Most jobs can be sorted by scouring the maintenance guides on here or asking direct and specific questions. That's what were all here for; the benefit of being "miggy mates".
Hi mate :y
Ask away.
I don't have a manual; nor a diesel, so I can't help you with that; sorry. :(
Having said that I don't want a Haynes manual, I prefer to get advice, that way I can double-check my understanding. It is actually better to not to have one IMHO.

thanks for the advice mate, a couple of jobs need doing bud, just had it serviced heater plugs ect, filters, and quite regular it whizzes over like a fuel problem but doesnt do it all the time, is there a return valve on them? also had rac out yesterday flat battery but thats brand new, checked battery alternator amp every thing working, jump started it and fine at the mo, apart from that whizzing over mate. :(
-
have you tried halfords......but youll have to pay about £20 for it :y
-
2.5td wizzes over more before starting when warm than cold.
if it wizzes over a lot all the time then could be air leak in fuel lines
-
cheers diesaldean, funny you should say that mate there is a whiff of fuel when your sat in it, will have a look at that mate thanks alot, and thanks to batista will try them :y

There isn't a Haynes manual for a diesel :(

I don't know if it can help you in any way, but learn if the engine is used in other cars. You don't have to have the exact manual for repairing your car. For example, my gearbox is used in about 10 other models (honda, toyota, bmw, suzuki, isuzu) from other makers.
This allows me to get a manual for other car, covering the gearbox, buy cheaper rebuild kits (in USA they are very affordable, send by mail), etc.
Other example: the engine used in the Carlton (brazilian 1993-1998 omega) 2.0 is the same of kadett, ascona/monza, vectra; the 2.2 is the same of the s10 truck; the 4.1 is a tune-up of the opala (opel rekord); and so on.
Ah, yes: we make a lot of adaptions here; sometimes you get the same part from other car. Example: brake valve (the one that goes to brake assisting "pan") at store: omega: R$ 150,00, vw kombi: R$ 10,00 (R$ 1,00 = US$ 2,40). works and fit equally. I suspect it's the same part. This includes brake pads, anything. If you ask for "omega" the atendant will poke you in the eye (and you sometimes can see written in the part box "Fits: car 1, car 2, vw beetle, gm omega"... if you ask for the beetle part, it's a 1/10 ou 1/100 of the price... ::)
If you want some omega a/b material (unfortunatedly, looks like there is no manual for omega diesel, so learn which other cars have the same engine and look for them), i have some 500MB of it. while i hate to have this stuff instead of an original printed book, it's better than nothing. :-/ :-/ :-/

I believe that the 2.5TD lump is a MW engine isn't it?
-
Yes, but many parts are quite different, like lubrication, cooling, steering... and everything electric.
-
haynes manual for petrols covers wiring diagrams for 2.5td.
engine is also fitted in bmw and range rover

I repeat :

If you were a REALLY good boy, you'd scan it and send me a copy ;D ;D ;D.. Just kidding... :)
I ordered my manuals from www.abebooks.com . I wish they come soon... While many of my doubts are answered on line, it's better to have some printed reference... only for safety ;)
