Wotcha All.
My '98 Elite 3.0 suddenly developed a misfire during a journey yesterday. The RAC fella found that one of the spark plugs wasn't receiving charge and reckoned it was down to a faulty HT lead or the coil. :'(
Is the "coil" the same as the DIS module and how much should this part cost to replace?
Also, can HT leads for the V6 be replaced individually or are they only supplied as a set? Any estimates on potential costs?
Many thanks. :)

The coil will be the dis pack on a 98 car. The best place to get them is Ebay, I will post a link if I find one. I would replace all the leads at the sametime for peace of mind, but again I would go for Bosch ones off Ebay as they are over £200 for Vauxhall ::)

Any signs of cracking on the insulator, on the suspect lead? Are the plugs alright?
If it transpires you need a DIS I have a good one here that will fit your model.

These are the people I bought my last one off, but you will have to check which one is fitted to yours as I believe there are a couple of different ones.

Thanks Guys.
The RAC fella popped a test spark plug in the suspect lead and got no spark, so he concluded that it was the lead/coil rather than the plug itself.
I'll take your advice and get Bosch parts when I find out what needs replacing.
Cheers.

Did he think to try one of the other leads on the same coil output using the test plug?
That would tell you for sure if it was the lead, or the coil pack..
